CFTC Forms New Innovation Committee with Crypto Leaders to Guide Blockchain and AI Regulation
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has established a 12-member Innovation Advisory Committee, replacing its Technology Advisory Committee, to shape regulatory frameworks for blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies. Chaired by CFTC's Mike Selig, the committee includes prominent crypto industry figures such as Gemini's Tyler Winklevoss and Crypto.com's Kris Marszalek alongside traditional finance executives from Nasdaq and Intercontinental Exchange.
The initiative reflects growing institutional recognition of transformative technologies reshaping financial markets. By integrating crypto-native voices with established market participants, the CFTC aims to develop practical, forward-looking regulations for emerging digital asset ecosystems and AI applications in finance.
